Alan Lock 2nd Dan, BAB Level 1 Coach
I began practicing a form of free style Karate (Budo San Jutsu) when I was 20 and achieved my 1st Dan in 1987. I became disillusioned with Karate and spent the next ten years trying my hand at various other martial arts including Kung-Fu, Muay Tai, Tai Chi, and Ju-Jitsu.

I met a guy called Alan Crawford who was an Aikidoka who introduced me to the effectiveness of Aikido. I was particularly attracted to the philosophy within Aikido as well as its effectiveness as a self defence system

I began training at the Chorley Budo Club in 1997 underMarion Mucha Sensei , Bill Smalley Sensei 4th Dan, Bill Shone Sensei 2nd Dan and Frank Monk. I achieved my 1st Dan in June 2003 and qualified as a coach level 1 in April 2005. 2nd dan awarded September 2006
