ALTRINCHAM AIKIDO CLUB

Following the practice at Sale leisure Centre earlier in April our club decided to run on the second Sunday of a month and practise at Altrincham Leisure Centre between 8.00 and 9.30pm. Again the emphasis is on practice rather than being taught. The dates are 10 June and 8 July.

It will be open to any member who is graded and thus excludes beginners. The cost of the session will be shared.

Please pass this information on to any student you consider might wish to attend. The centre is located on Oakfield Road in Altrincham and is reached off the A560 to/from Stockport and is well signposted. I'll post an extract of the A-Z to anyone travelling from Lancashire if they contact me. The centre boasts a bar and showers equal to those found at Sale and so should be a good night out.

Altrincham has received a boost from the 'high-grade' practice held in April at Sale Sports Centre with new beginners at our regular club night.

British Aikido Board

The meeting coincided with the meditation course on 19 May. It seems that coaching courses and exemption are now coming to a conclusion. The Sports Council require all Martial Bodies to resubmit themselves through a recognition procedure. This means that a reassessment of grant-aid will be required.

New Membership Books

Existing members can obtain new books for £1 and should forward the fee with a new photo and the existing book via their club leader to me. The existing book will be returned.

3RD DAN
