Lancashire Aikikai - CRB Checks - the process

1.  Forms
These are available from the Lancashire Aikikai Child Protection Officer . You could start speaking with your Club Welfare Officer for them to obtain the form for you.

2.  Completing Forms
There are very strict condition in completing a form and it is suggested you do this under supervision to guide you.
      Firstly it must be in black ink and in CAPITALS.
      Secondly follow the Applicant's guidance notes provided by TMG.
      Thirdly some people have found it useful to complete a dummy form first. (Reduced size)

3.  ID documents
Guidance Notes detail what is needed and comes with the application form. But may be viewed in advance. Proving ID . The CRB site had some guidance as well

4.  Who can verify ID (Verifier)
People whose names have been registered by our Child Protection Officer, the BAB CPO and TMG. TMG act on behalf of the BAB and will not process any forms which are signed by non registered people.

People in the Lancashire Aikikai who have been registered to assist our CPO with the ID verification and form filling process are named in the table below. Such helpers need to follow the CRB, TMG and BAB processes and procedures. Verifiers can see the FAQ page on this site

5.  Completing the Form and Verify the documents produced
Set up a time to do this with the ID verifier. Please take with you to this meeting the Aikikai's Form P-1 completed which is needed as well

6.  What happens next
The Form is sent by the ID Verifier to TMG with a cheque payable to them to process for £17.50. IT MUST NOT BE RETURNED TO YOU

7.   Tell our Child Protection Officer the serial number on the form sent off.

8.   Our Form P-1 is also needed by the Association's Child Protection Officer and should be sent. This can be later within the process for Coaches.

9.  What you do when The Disclosure report is received back
:

  • For those coaching now complete the Permission Form P-2. You need the Permission of the Principal of the Association so you can teach. See the steps to follow

 

  • A Club Welfare Officer should send this to the Association's Child Protection Officer

When this is received by you you should start applying for permission to hold a post in the Lancashire Aikikai and its clubs - this is mandatory and is part of our recruitment procedure which is required by law.  See Permissions page for the next steps.
