Permission to Teach -
(Taking unsupervised classes)
Welcome our permissions page for Lancashire Aikikai
Instructors who are authorised to take classes without supervision.
The Aikikai believes all such Instructors
should hold a Governing Body coaching award, be a Dan Grade in Aikido, be First Aid qualified, hold appropriate insurance, be CRB checked in accordance with Child Protection policy (See below #) and be authorised to take classes by our Head of Association.
# Following publications of new guidance and policy by the BAB and clarification that checks to be made are considered proportionate to risk the Aikikai focus on the criteria of "regular supervisory contact". Accordingly from November 2011 a CRB check is not needed for Coaches, who teach at their club which only takes students over 18 years of age - provided they don't teach regularly at other clubs.
