The Aikikai policy regarding its volunteers is........
...all those teaching unsupervised in the Aikikai must have a BAB Coaching Award of at least Level 1, approved PI insurance, a First Aid qualification which has been obtained through assessment by way of an approved HSE provider, be CRB checked and be authorised by the Head of Association.
...all those assisting teaching supervised in the Aikikai must have a BAB Coaching Award of at least Level 1, approved PI insurance, be CRB checked and be authorised by the Head of Association.
...all those helping in the Aikikai must be CRB checked and be authorised by the Head of Association.
That a CPD system will operate for Coaches, Assistants and Helpers where appropriate. The Permission system and route for those teaching or want to teach is described in the Coaching section
The Aikikai accepts not everyone wishes to teach or assist – high grades wishing to practise only are also valued and respected.
Lancashire Aikikai is a member of the national Governing Body for Aikido (British Aikido Board) and is subject to its rules and policies.

The Lancashire Aikikai is a vountary body - it has no paid instructors or officials.
For anyone to teach, assist or help on the mat - formal permission is needed before stepping onto the mat in these roles. (This is not needed for visiting instructors that our Head of Association is aware of)
