New Start Insurance
The Lancashire Aikikai has adopted a policy and practice to insure all students before they step on to a mat for the first time through payment of the BAB Registration Certificate - they are granted temporary membership. See Procedures
What is recorded here is an extract of the BAB Executive minutes January 2009 as a matter of record our policy above prevails..............
"Enquired about insurance cover for those who turn up at a class for first time and invited to experience the training. How does BAB/individual club stand in respect of their insurance and insurance of others on mat?
Answer: each person is allowed 3 taster sessions – however, need to have a record of who they are. After 3 sessions should be encouraged to join. The practice seems to be that a form is completed and the initial insurance cost charged.
Once they are listed and eventually paid they are covered.
This is a member : member and member: instructor – as for fully paid member/instructor.
If two taster session members are practising and there is an incident the they are covered. "
